When rabies flared in Kibaha District, local authorities prepared to cull dogs en masse. Panicked communities braced to watch beloved animals shot or poisoned. Through your donations, Animals First Aid rushed support to our partner TAWESO to carry out emergency mass vaccinations. That intervention meant that instead of killing dogs, communities lined up to protect them. Hundreds of dogs were vaccinated, and preventable slaughter was stopped. One of those dogs is Simba. He was weak and near death from illness. Today, Simba has recovered and runs free — a tail-wagging, living reminder that fast action and a funded partner save lives.
